American Prison Data Systems Brings a New Approach to Life Behind Bars with AirWatch

Orijin, a public benefit company serving correctional facilities, needed a secure way to deliver digital education, rehabilitation, and communication services on inmate tablets while addressing strict administrator concerns about device and internet security. To support this mission, the company turned to VMware AirWatch enterprise mobility management (EMM), including tools such as AirWatch Content Locker and AirWatch Browser.

With VMware AirWatch, Orijin can remotely monitor, locate, and control tablets in the field while restricting access to approved content and online programs. The solution helped Orijin deploy corrections-ready Android tablets quickly and scale to more than 600 devices, replacing paper-based resources with safer, more efficient digital services that improve inmate learning and rehabilitation outcomes and help reduce recidivism.
