Santa Anna Apartment Homes, a modern apartment community in Weslaco, TX, needed a secure yet convenient way to control access to common areas (pool gate, restrooms, clubhouse and fitness center) and avoid the expense and administrative burden of traditional fob systems. Owner Manuel Chapa selected VIZpin’s smartphone-based access control solution—Bluetooth readers plus cloud-based management—to give residents and staff easy, phone-based entry while preventing unauthorized sharing of credentials.

VIZpin installed readers at the four access points and set up cloud portal administration, resulting in nearly 300 VIZpin users, elimination of physical fob costs and simpler tenant onboarding/offboarding from any browser. The system improved security and accountability (access logs helped resolve a gym incident), increased resident convenience and reduced ongoing management time and expense compared with a fob-based alternative.
