Oracle eAM Implementation Sets Tone for Proactive Maintenance at Nation’s Third Largest School District

Chicago Public Schools, the nation’s third largest school district serving 405,000 students across 675 schools with more than 200,000 assets and a $5 billion operating budget, struggled with a legacy maintenance system that produced inaccurate asset and warranty records and forced reactive, costly maintenance. To modernize maintenance management, the district engaged VIZIYA and implemented Oracle eAM eAM Implementation Services to improve work order management, preventive maintenance, and warranty tracking.

VIZIYA supported a structured rollout—starting with a feasibility study, developing an asset data model, and using a train‑the‑trainer approach to train over 500 users—so Oracle eAM could be deployed across 675 schools and 200,000 assets. With VIZIYA’s solution in place, Chicago Public Schools now captures all work orders and preventive tasks, tracks materials, labor and warranties by asset, has reduced reactionary spending, and gained management reports and KPIs for proactive maintenance and better control of maintenance costs.
