Natural Eye Care, an ecommerce provider of homeopathic eye‑health products, engaged Vizion Interactive after receiving a Google manual link penalty caused by a prior agency’s poor link‑building practices (comment/blog spam, link networks, abused press releases and exact‑match anchor text). Vizion Interactive paused new link building and was brought in to perform an in‑depth SEO link audit and cleanup.
Vizion Interactive used tools including Ahrefs, Majestic, Open Site Explorer, Google Webmaster Tools and Link Research Tools to identify toxic links, ran a toxic‑link analysis, conducted four rounds of webmaster takedown requests over four months, and submitted a disavow file in April 2014. Over 60% of the identified toxic links were removed, and Natural Eye Care’s organic traffic, sessions, and users more than doubled after the cleanup.
