A VIVOTEK Case Study
AXTEL, a Mexican telecommunications company offering broadband, telephony, pay TV and ICT solutions, needed a flexible, user‑friendly IP video surveillance system to guarantee fast, secure billing and excellent customer service. Requirements included PTZ and audio‑streaming cameras to record customer and supplier conversations for 30 days, intranet reporting that prioritized access areas, and the ability to zoom to read banknote denominations and identify personnel. After testing voice and data streaming, AXTEL selected VIVOTEK and its VAST platform.
VIVOTEK, implemented with local partner Novalan, deployed 165 network cameras (mostly PZ7111 and PZ8111) with Constant Bit Rate, 74 Cisco PoE switches, six NVRs (15 TB storage) and 12 monitoring stations, using dedicated links plus CBR/QoS to protect bandwidth. The VIVOTEK VAST system provides centralized live and recorded monitoring from a single screen; as a result AXTEL improved real‑time oversight of over‑the‑counter collections, customer service interactions, banknote denomination checks, MAPS openings, delivery of valuables, ATM checks and employee compliance—creating a more secure environment for customers and staff.
