VIVOTEK FD7160 Puts Chile’s Mall Safety at Ease

Plaza El Roble Mall in Chillán, Chile, faced limitations with its legacy analogue surveillance and needed a robust, scalable IP-based solution to improve shopper safety and operational monitoring. VIVOTEK was chosen to upgrade the system using its FD7160 network dome cameras, in a project implemented with system integrator M y P Estrom.

VIVOTEK deployed an initial 60 FD7160 cameras (later expanded to more than 75), each 2MP flat-dome units built for public spaces with EN50155-class robustness, PoE power under UPS for outage resilience, and optical zoom for clearer images. The rollout included a hybrid topology and two QNAP servers with more than 12 TB each for digital backup; the result was higher-quality footage, continuous recording during power events, easier data management, and a measurable expansion from 60 to 75+ cameras—demonstrably improving mall security and operational transparency under VIVOTEK’s solution.
