VIVOTEK Enhances Security in Ukrainian City Hosting UEFA Euro 2012

The City of Donetsk needed to strengthen urban security ahead of UEFA Euro 2012 and as part of its ongoing Safety Donetsk program to support police and protect crowded public spaces. The municipal government selected VIVOTEK’s network camera solutions—including models IP8332, SD8362E and FD8134—to provide high-performance, around-the-clock surveillance for parks, streets and indoor public venues.

Konus Ukraine, VIVOTEK’s local distributor, implemented a centrally managed system with 315 VIVOTEK cameras (288 IP8332, 5 SD8362E and 22 FD8134) across the city. The VIVOTEK deployment delivered clear, continuous video that helped monitor and reveal 200 criminal incidents (including 7 hijackings), identify 45 hit-and-run drivers, and assist in locating lost children during EURO 2012, significantly improving public safety and investigative capability.
