VIVOTEK Cameras Used to Showcase Broadband Internet in Romania

RCD&RDS, Romania’s largest telecom, needed a way to prove the speed and reliability of its Digi.Net broadband to potential customers by streaming live roadside video feeds. To do this the company partnered with VIVOTEK and chose the IP8332 outdoor megapixel camera to showcase real-time video performance over its cable and fiber network.

Working with distributor SEEKTRON, RCD&RDS deployed 40 VIVOTEK IP8332 cameras across Romania; the IP66-rated, IR-equipped cameras and triple-codec support (H.264/MPEG-4/MJPEG) delivered crisp day/night video while minimizing bandwidth use. The VIVOTEK solution enabled smooth live streams that visibly demonstrated network capability, and subscriptions to Digi.Net increased considerably after the cameras went online.
