VIVOTEK Cameras for License Plate Recognition Are Adopted for Parking Garage Access Control System

Nanosegundos, a system integrator in Bogota, Colombia, was tasked with implementing a high-security access control system for a private parking garage that combined fingerprint biometrics with License Plate Recognition (LPR). Because LPR requires exceptional video quality and the ability to capture plates on moving vehicles—and no additional lighting could be installed—Nanosegundos turned to VIVOTEK cameras to meet these demanding conditions.

Nanosegundos deployed VIVOTEK IP7142 cameras for incoming lanes (IP66 housing, 720 x 480 resolution, 15 m IR, WDR, up to 30 fps) and IP8133 cameras for exits (one‑megapixel 1280 x 800 sensor, white LED indicator, up to 30 fps), integrated with fingerprint kiosks. The VIVOTEK solution delivered clear day/night images and reliable plate reads under existing lighting, enabling quick, dependable LPR and secure, efficient vehicle access—performance that Nanosegundos’ engineer described as “quickly and reliably” recognized by both operators and users.
