VIVOTEK and Genetec™ (Stratocast) Unite to Ensure Travelers’ Safety at Hotel Gran Marquise

Hotel Gran Marquise, a five‑star seafront hotel in Fortaleza, faced an outdated security setup of hundreds of analog cameras (around 500) and 22 DVRs that produced low‑quality images and made footage retrieval slow and laborious. To modernize surveillance and unify management across security, marketing and operations, the hotel engaged VIVOTEK (in partnership with Genetec’s Stratocast™ cloud VSaaS) to migrate from analog to IP cameras and cloud recording.

VIVOTEK deployed high‑resolution IB8369A and compact FD8166 network cameras (initially replacing 250 analog cameras with 48 IP cameras) and integrated them with Genetec Stratocast™ and Security Center plus KiwiVision analytics, enabling encrypted cloud storage and unified access control. The upgrade cut camera overlap, improved day/night image quality, reduced bandwidth/storage needs by up to 50% via Smart Stream II, and delivered tangible results — for example a lost‑jewelry incident was resolved using footage in just 15 minutes; the project continues toward a 250‑camera rollout and integration with fire and access systems.
