The Monumental Guido Coal Mine Provides Its Employees and Tourists with Best Security in Mine

The Monumental Guido Coal Mine, a 158-year-old mining museum and underground cultural K8 zone in Zabrze, Poland, needed a modern surveillance system to protect employees and a growing number of tourists visiting its 320‑meter‑deep chambers. Facing difficult lighting, dust and humidity, and the requirement to manage and control up to 250 people underground, the mine selected VIVOTEK and its 1.3‑Megapixel IP8151 network camera to meet these challenges.

VIVOTEK implemented IP8151 cameras with Supreme Night Visibility, WDR Enhancement, two‑way audio and rugged external housings, enabling operators to monitor movement across the K8 zone, enforce no‑smoking rules, assist lost visitors and support staff safety in low‑light, dusty conditions. The VIVOTEK solution delivered clear imagery in extreme lighting, resisted underground environmental factors, met the mine’s crowd‑management requirement, and proved easy to operate for effective day‑to‑day security and visitor management.
