Technet Informatics, Ltd., an ICT provider in Greece, needed a shipboard surveillance solution that could operate continuously in harsh maritime conditions—salt air, extreme heat and steam above the main engine—while safeguarding crew, monitoring procedures and providing incident evidence. To meet these requirements they engaged VIVOTEK for an IP‑based, ruggedized camera system using models such as the FE8181V, FE8181, FE8180, IP8162, IP9171‑HP and ND8422P NVRs.

VIVOTEK delivered a 17‑camera installation (including an FE8181V above the main engine, FE8181 on the bridge, six FE8180s on deck and multiple IP‑8162/IP‑9171HP externals) tied to two ND8422P NVRs, providing 360° day/night coverage, IP66/IK10 protection and plug‑and‑play remote monitoring via EZConnect. Completed in February 2017, the system eliminated blind spots, ensured continuous onboard monitoring and evidence capture, and gave the ship scalable, resilient surveillance with dual‑NVR redundancy and full remote access from shore—measurable as 17 cameras and two NVRs delivering uninterrupted operation at sea.
