A VIVOTEK Case Study
Arvaikheer City, Mongolia, a provincial capital facing a growing population and extreme weather (from −39°C to +33°C and winds over 90 km/h), needed a public safety surveillance system to reduce crime and monitor main roads and highway entries. VIVOTEK, working with local distributor ITZONE LLC., was selected to supply network cameras and related equipment capable of operating reliably across the city’s roughly 64 km2 footprint.
VIVOTEK deployed 74 network cameras in December 2013—covering two zones for public activities and traffic (26 public locations and 6 roadside locations)—using rugged models (SD8362E, SD8323E PTZs and IP8362 bullets) with IP66 weatherproofing, high frame rates, long zoom and low‑light/WDR performance. The system went live on December 1, 2013; officials reported excellent image quality and performance, and VIVOTEK says the installation has improved the city’s ability to detect, identify and deter crime, enhancing public safety and residents’ peace of mind.
