Madrid Municipal Police Outfits Patrol Cars with VIVOTEK Cameras

The Madrid Municipal Police outfitted its patrol cars with VIVOTEK cameras to give officers real‑time street information and improve the safety of officers and citizens. Under criteria from the Technical Services of the General Security Management of the Madrid Council, local integrator Plettac Electronics and distributor LSB led the project using VIVOTEK models PZ8121W and IP8332.

VIVOTEK supplied a total of 126 cameras (three per patrol car: one PZ8121W dashboard unit with 3GPP/Wi‑Fi, motorized pan/tilt and 10x zoom, and two IP8332 roof units with IR up to 15 m and IP66 housing) integrated with in‑car PCs and an automated LPR system. The VIVOTEK solution streams video to headquarters for monitoring and recording, enables real‑time identification and matching of license plates with immediate alerts for stolen or vehicles of interest, and has been reported by the Madrid City Council as a successful implementation.
