Vitec Iptv Solution Transmits Live Video and Data Streams for European Space Agency

The European Space Agency’s Space Operations Centre (ESOC) in Darmstadt, Germany, needed a reliable, mission-critical IPTV solution to support satellite operations around the clock. Its existing system suffered from frequent firmware updates, constant reboots, distracting fan noise, and hardware support issues, creating performance failures in a 24/7 control-room environment. VITEC’s EZ TV IPTV Platform and real-time encoders were selected to meet these demanding requirements.

VITEC implemented a hardware-based, high-quality, low-latency IPTV platform with centralized rights management, multi-window viewing, and set-top-box access across the ESOC facility. The result was a quieter, more cost-efficient system with flexible user access control, improved ease of administration, and uninterrupted 24/7 operation since installation. VITEC also helped reduce noise with fanless appliances and enabled operators to move between screens without losing access rights or affecting latency.
