The Utah Air National Guard required a highly secure and reliable system for real-time information-sharing and collaboration between its base and personnel in the field. Their challenge involved distributing a large number of video channels for emergencies, news, and training, with strict demands for security, high video quality, and redundancy. To meet these needs, they partnered with vendor VITEC for an IPTV solution.

VITEC implemented a solution using five MGW 5100 multi-channel encoders and the EZ TV System, which together stream up to 248 H.264 video channels. This provided the Guard with real-time situational monitoring, easy access to mission-critical information from any location, and high security through assignable access privileges. The system’s full redundancy prevented single point-of-failure events, ensuring absolute reliability for the Utah Air National Guard's critical operations.
