Case Study: United Nations Economic Commission for Africa achieves a modern delegate experience with VITEC IPTV and digital signage

UNECA modernizes Africa Hall with VITEC’s 15-endpoint IPTV and digital signage network

The United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) faced the challenge of refurbishing its historic Africa Hall headquarters to meet contemporary standards while preserving its cultural integrity. As part of this upgrade, they needed a modern IPTV and digital signage solution to distribute informative and engaging video content throughout the building for an increased number of delegates. Integrator Telmaco turned to VITEC to provide this technology.

VITEC implemented a complete IPTV and digital signage system using its DVB gateways, encoders, and the Avedia Server platform. The solution powers digital signage and distributes live video feeds across the building, transforming the delegate experience with access to vital information. The project was a success, contributing to the venue winning a 2025 Inavation Award and creating a dynamic, modern environment fit for future generations of African leaders.
