Mainstream Media AG, a broadcaster operating multiple TV channels and a music trading business, faced the challenge of creating a secure, searchable long-term archive for its vast media library. They needed an automated review and approval workflow that integrated with their AVID non-linear editing stations and could also function as a video-on-demand platform for their customers. They turned to vendor VITEC for a solution using the Proxsys Media Archive.

VITEC implemented its Proxsys platform, which integrated with a VSH Production Server to act as a hub for their editing stations, enabling both manual and automatic archiving. The solution generated low-bandwidth previews for easy browser-based access and secured high-resolution media on tape libraries. Proxsys provided a customized UI for managing review and approval workflows, capturing feedback as searchable metadata, and it also serves as a searchable VOD portal for Mainstream Media AG's end customers.
