Case Study: United States Army achieves secure, reliable IPTV delivery with VITEC

A VITEC Case Study

Preview of the United States Army Case Study

Delivering Real Time and On-Demand Video to PC and TV Screens Across the Base

The United States Army’s Picatinny Arsenal in New Jersey needed to replace a legacy IPTV platform that had limited scalability, mediocre video quality, poor usability, periodic outages, and no support for TV monitors or plasma screens. VITEC was brought in to provide a more reliable, budget-conscious IPTV solution using its EZ TV IPTV System for delivering live and on-demand video across the base.

VITEC implemented broadcast-quality H.264 video streaming with support for multiple content sources, VOD, and portable encoders for local feeds, while also enabling desktop and TV viewing through a centralized portal and players. The solution improved channel guide usability, allowed personalized multi-window viewing, integrated with Active Directory for access control, and added an emergency override channel; the full deployment, including installation, configuration, and verification testing, was completed in just 3 days.
