Crowne Plaza Muscat OCEC Selects Exterity in Room Entertainment System to Provide a Premium Guest Experience

Crowne Plaza Muscat OCEC, a 4-star IHG hotel in Oman, needed a modern in-room infotainment and digital signage platform to replace an outdated IPTV system and better serve business and conference guests. Working with VITEC and local integration partner VIT, the hotel looked for a more flexible, guest-friendly experience, including easier content updates and a more polished TV interface.

VITEC implemented an integrated IP video and digital signage solution based on Exterity technology, including ArtioGuest and ArtioSign, across 295 guest rooms, 7 conference rooms, and signage points throughout the property. The deployment delivered 70 satellite TV channels, YouTube access, BYOD streaming over Wi‑Fi, and integration with Amadeus Delphi, supporting over 332 SmartTV screens. The result was a reliable, easy-to-manage system with positive guest feedback and a platform ready for future guest-service expansion.
