Alva Hotel by Royal in Hong Kong wanted a modern digital signage and in-room infotainment experience that matched its contemporary, smart-hotel concept and delivered a seamless “better-than-home” guest experience across its 680 rooms and suites. The hotel partnered with VITEC, via SmarTone, to provide a reliable, flexible hospitality TV and communications solution using Exterity/ArtioGuest technology.

VITEC implemented an STB-less IPTV and digital signage system deployed to more than 700 Sony BRAVIA SmartTVs, with content streamed directly to the TVs and guest-room control available via SmartTV or iPad. The solution added 4K channel access, Chromecast and Apple iOS mirroring, environmental controls, direct TV check-out, and other touchless self-service features, resulting in a highly reliable, flexible platform that set a new benchmark for hotel TV experience.
