Bath Rugby, one of the world’s oldest rugby clubs, needed a better way to record live matches and training sessions for performance analysis. The club had to capture both broadcaster live feeds and handheld camera footage, then make the video easy to distribute to coaches and players with different levels of technical experience. VITEC’s FS-H70 portable HD recorder was chosen to support this workflow.

VITEC implemented the FS-H70 to record SDI video in MOV format onto removable SDHC cards, creating files that were immediately compatible with Sportscode for analysis without transcoding. The solution made it easy to swap cards pitch-side, share clips via laptop or cloud, and deliver small, high-quality files for multiple devices. VITEC’s approach gave Bath Rugby a simple, portable recording workflow with 1080p clips around 8GB for 2 hours, helping speed up review and collaboration.
