Case Study: Prudential Financial achieves increased veteran hiring and stronger workforce and community health with Vitality

A Vitality Case Study

Preview of the Prudential Financial Case Study

Prudential Financial - Customer Case Study

Prudential Financial, a global finance and insurance firm with 47,000 employees, needed to better support U.S. military veterans’ transition into the corporate workforce and address non-medical social and financial determinants of employee health. Vitality captured this challenge in its "Beyond the Four Walls" report, noting Prudential’s goal to align HR, benefits, corporate social responsibility and business units to improve veterans’ employment, health and community outcomes.

Vitality documented Prudential Financial’s multi-pronged solution: creating a Veterans Initiative Office, launching the VETalent work/study program with Workforce Opportunities Services and partner universities, offering life coaches, sharing internal health data, and coordinating across business units. Vitality reports measurable impact — 382 veterans engaged, 77 VETalent veterans hired full-time at Prudential, 126 placed with other employers and 179 in training — demonstrating strengthened talent pipelines, reduced barriers to health, and progress on inclusion initiatives like the "Count Me In!" campaign.
