A Vitality Case Study

Preview of the Ericsson Case Study

Influencing Quality Of Life by Improving Health

Ericsson, a global Fortune 500 ICT company, wanted to move beyond basic annual health fairs and scale a premium, evidence-based employee wellness program to improve health, engagement and reduce risk across its worldwide workforce. To do this it partnered with Vitality in 2012, adopting Vitality’s data-driven wellness platform and tools (including the Vitality program portal, Vitality Points/Bucks, Vitality Mall, Vitality Status, Vitality Check and Vitality Health Review) to offer broad, verified choices across physical activity, prevention, nutrition and mental well-being.

Vitality implemented a reporting-led strategy with targeted communications, on-site E-Health Champs, team challenges and incentives (gym rebates, rewards via the Vitality Mall and status-driven gift cards) administered through the Vitality portal. The program delivered measurable results: 80% employee participation, 31% of members highly engaged (Gold+), a 10% increase in activities completed per member per month and a 10x net improvement in health risk factors among higher engaged members, along with external recognition such as Top 100 Healthiest Workplaces and American Heart Association awards.
