Granite Construction, a full-suite provider in transportation, water infrastructure and mineral exploration, faced the common employer challenge of physical inactivity and uneven engagement in workplace wellness across a dispersed U.S. workforce. To raise visibility and build excitement for their wellness program, Granite Construction partnered with Vitality and enrolled employees in Vitality Active Rewards + Apple Watch.

Vitality combined the Apple Watch with the Vitality Today mobile app and a behavioral “loss aversion” incentive model to motivate daily activity, and Granite now has 34% of eligible members participating in AR+AW. The Vitality program delivered measurable results: AR+AW users recorded 9x more website logins, 5x more mobile app logins, 49% more active days and 3.5x more days with 10,000+ steps, while employees report strong motivation to reduce monthly Apple Watch payments and increase healthy activity.
