ACCO Brands, one of the world’s largest suppliers of branded office supplies, faced the challenge of building a long-term, flexible wellness strategy for a dispersed, mixed blue- and white-collar workforce across the United States. To meet that need they partnered with Vitality and deployed its holistic wellness program — including integrations with third‑party vendors, the Vitality Today app, incentive channels like the Vitality Mall/Amazon gift cards, and a challenges platform — to engage a diverse employee population.
Vitality’s combination of technology, incentives and hands‑on account management drove higher engagement and measurable health impact: since January 1, 2016 ACCO Brands members logged 1,082,429,534 steps (about 541,215 miles — the equivalent of walking to the Moon 2.3 times), saw year‑over‑year participation increases, and reported correlations between increased participation and lower health insurance costs. Vitality’s challenges platform in particular “blew the program up,” delivering ACCO Brands its best year of engagement while also supporting recruitment, community building and administrative ease.
