McCarthy Building Companies, a 7,500-employee, multi-state, employee-owned construction firm, needed to foster a consistent culture of health across diverse field and office teams and six regions while sustaining engagement through rapid growth and the COVID-19 pandemic. To meet this challenge McCarthy partnered with Vitality, deploying Vitality’s wellness program and biometric screening options to reach workers on job sites, in offices, and remotely.

Using Vitality’s platform, McCarthy implemented on-site and partner-center biometric screenings, home kits, incentives (discounted premiums and a “Platinum Prize”), a regional Wellness Champs network, and integrations with partners like Lyra, Included Health and My Secure Advantage. Vitality helped drive strong engagement and measurable outcomes: over 75% average Health Assessment participation across 10 years, a recent 5% increase in biometric completion, a 24% rise in employees reaching Gold Status, a 7.2% actuarial improvement in employee risk groupings, and better outcomes for Gold/Platinum members (59% lower Vitality Age, 52% fewer health-related absences and 9% lower turnover).
