Advanced Transit Manufacturing (ATM), an ISO 9001:2008 certified supplier in rail transit, aerospace and defence, faced growing complexity from highly detailed work instructions, inspection checklists and a paper‑based “Yellow Folder” system that made it hard to ensure consistent execution and manage assembly data. In 2015 they engaged Visual Knowledge Share Ltd and adopted its VKS digital work instruction platform to move toward lean, paperless manufacturing.

Visual Knowledge Share Ltd implemented VKS guidebooks, photo‑documentation and barcode/serial‑number scanning so operators could follow standardized steps, capture part photos and link serial numbers to reports. The solution replaced the Yellow Folder process across assemblies (including an initial deployment on 8–10 complex electromagnetic assemblies), centralized data for searchable traceability, reduced document management friction, and required minimal support—while enabling faster vendor support and plans to extend VKS into inspections and test procedures.
