Michelin's plant in Thailand faced a challenge in manufacturing planning as different teams struggled to reach a shared understanding using traditional 2D engineering drawings and CAD sketches. This allowed Michelin's teams to collaboratively visualize, iterate, and validate equipment placement and workflow ergonomics in a virtual environment before any physical implementation. The results included the early identification of spatial conflicts, optimized layouts that improved operator efficiency, and a significant reduction in miscommunication.
