MAG - Customer Case Study

MAG, part of FFG Europe & Americas, needed a way to design and validate a flexible manufacturing system for unmanned or reduced-manning production. Facing highly variable batch sizes and different workpiece processing times, the company used Visual Components 3D manufacturing simulation software to create an accurate layout and support offline planning before building the cell.

With Visual Components, MAG modeled the cell using reusable eCatalog components and custom CAD-based machine data, then simulated the full workflow of AGVs, robot, and machine tool to optimize layout, robot reach, and collision avoidance. The solution helped minimize non-productive time, reduce planning errors, and speed up sales and quoting; MAG also reported that the simulation saved significant time and money, and the digital twin was strong enough to support customer reviews and trade show demonstrations.
