City of Chico’s Information Systems team needed a better way to delegate account management, support Help Desk functions, and improve network administration across more than 17 servers and 350 workstations. Their existing Novell ConsoleOne tools were cumbersome for creating accounts, assigning rights, and supporting remote access, creating both productivity and security challenges. Visual Click Software’s DSRAZOR for eDirectory and DSRAZOR for GroupWise were chosen to address these issues.
Visual Click Software implemented DSRAZOR to dynamically assign rights, let HR handle user account updates, enable remote desktop access for the Help Desk, and improve reporting and visibility into directory services. The result was faster task delegation, stronger security, and better service levels across departments such as Fire and Police. City of Chico reported that HR could now create accounts and update user details directly, distribution list changes happened almost immediately, and IS staff could focus on higher-value work, significantly improving productivity and operational performance.
