A The Visual Agency Case Study
For the 500th anniversary of Leonardo da Vinci's death, the Veneranda Biblioteca Ambrosiana, a historic library in Milan, sought to digitally open its prized Codex Atlanticus to a global audience. They partnered with The Visual Agency, which applied its dashboards and data visualization services, to transform this challenge into an interactive cultural heritage project.
The Visual Agency created a unique digital platform featuring interactive data visualizations that allow users to explore the Codex page by page across a timeline. This solution mapped the evolution of Leonardo's work and thoughts. The project was a major success, garnering over 150,000 unique visits and winning multiple prestigious international awards, including the Webby Award, thereby making this artistic heritage widely accessible and creating new scholarly research opportunities.
