Case Study: GoPro achieves first-ever live wingsuit broadcast with Vislink HEROCast

Vislink Supports GoPro’s Live Broadcast of Jeb Corliss’ Wingsuit Flight Over the Great Wall of China

GoPro partnered with Vislink Technologies and the World Wingsuit League to broadcast its first-ever live point-of-view wingsuit flight, “The Human Arrow,” from the Great Wall of China. The challenge was capturing reliable live video from extremely fast-moving, body-worn cameras in a rugged mountainous environment with no clear line of sight and wide-area RF coverage requirements.

Vislink Technologies delivered the HEROCast transmitter system, MDR multi-channel receiver system, technical assistance, and fiber-linked receive heads to enable uninterrupted live coverage from multiple camera angles. The setup worked quickly and safely, delivering clean video throughout the flight and helping the broadcast reach an estimated global audience of more than 1.25 billion viewers, with footage carried live or delayed by 14–18 TV stations.
