San Diego County Realizes Benefits of Wide Area Receive Network

The City of San Diego needed a more reliable way to deliver airborne video to public safety teams across its large, varied terrain. After earlier fixed receive sites still left coverage gaps and required manual switching, the city turned to Vislink Technologies for a more seamless, scalable airborne video downlink solution.

Vislink Technologies designed and deployed a Wide Area Receive Network using multiple diversity receive sites, automatic site selection, and IP transport over the city’s secure network. The result was a seamless, real-time video stream to the Emergency Operations Center and mobile devices without dedicated operator intervention, with the network currently covering about 2,500 square miles and able to expand further as needed.
