Virginia Commonwealth University unifies emergency alerts across 15 buildings with Visix

Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), a large research university, needed a digital signage software solution to help inform and protect its large population of students and staff. They were offered a grant from the Department of Homeland Security to develop a system for public emergency communications, which enabled them to purchase a unified software platform from Visix.

Visix implemented its AxisTV digital signage software, which became the centerpiece of a campus-wide communications system. The solution delivers emergency alerts, news, and announcements across 50 displays and a television network, with the capability to push information to PCs and mobile devices. This has provided VCU with a sophisticated and dynamic multi-channel system for both daily communications and critical emergency warnings, ensuring timely and effective information distribution.
