Valley Metro, the City of Roanoke’s nonprofit transit provider serving about 2.1 million passenger trips annually, needed a better way to reach drivers and staff. Important notices posted on dry-erase boards in the employee lounge were hard to maintain and often overlooked, so the agency sought a more engaging internal-communications solution.

Valley Metro installed an AxisTV digital signage system—content server and channel player driving a 50" display in a three-pane layout (two bulletin windows plus a live video window and bottom ticker). Supervisors now create timely HR, safety, routing and weather updates using templates and freeform tools; staff report the screens immediately grab attention, feedback has been positive, operations run smoothly with a maintenance agreement, and the agency plans to expand signage to passenger areas.
