Valley Metro boosts transit communications for 2.1 million annual trips with Visix

Valley Metro, a public transit service in Roanoke, Virginia, faced a challenge with internal communication as its old dry-erase boards in the employee lounge were hard to maintain and being ignored. They approached vendor Visix through a local AV dealer and implemented the AxisTV digital signage system to address this need for more effective messaging.

Visix provided the AxisTV system, which uses a content server and media player to drive a display in the lounge. The solution allows staff to easily create and publish announcements using templates, alongside news and weather feeds. The result was dramatically improved engagement, with employees immediately drawn to the dynamic screen, ensuring critical information was seen. Valley Metro also reported positive employee feedback and plans to expand the Visix system to passenger areas.
