A Visix Case Study
The University of Virginia, a historic institution with a 20,000‑strong student body, needed a more efficient, eco‑friendly way to replace paper flyers without compromising the look of its UNESCO‑listed grounds. Students and administrators wanted a simple, web‑based system that would let student groups quickly publish events while reducing waste and preserving campus aesthetics.
U.Va. deployed Visix AxisTV Enterprise across the student center, libraries, recreation centers and academic lobbies, with students posting approved graphics via a campus “Wire” web module. The rollout increased submissions each semester, cut paper use by about 10–15%, became a key part of campus emergency communications, and spurred broader departmental demand as the university moves toward replacing bulletin boards.
