University of South Florida’s Marshall Student Center set out to be a 230,000‑square‑foot social hub that combined cutting‑edge technology with an inclusive atmosphere to connect nearly 40,000 students. Planners needed a scalable way to communicate events, student‑organization information and emergency notices across four floors and heavy foot traffic to build a stronger campus community.

USF deployed Visix’s AxisTV digital signage—18 strategically placed LCD screens driven by five channel players and organized into A/B/C content channels—managed largely by a student operator via online submissions. The system keeps content fresh, integrates with the event calendar, boosts engagement (notably growing the center’s Facebook following from a few dozen to thousands), provides a campus‑wide emergency alert mode, and has prompted wider campus adoption of AxisTV.
