Visix supplied its AxisTV digital signage to the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain, MI, as part of the VA’s push to modernize communications. The center needed a better way to deliver patient education, promote disease prevention and clinic activities, and communicate operational changes—like a move to electronic prescription renewals and secure messaging—while maintaining a professional image for a growing, younger veteran population.

The solution deployed 11 monitors in waiting areas, the canteen, the main entrance and administrative spaces, with content created from background images and converted PowerPoint/Publisher slides scheduled into playlists via AxisTV. The signage eased the pharmacy policy rollout, increased clinic and activity participation, boosted automated pharmacy orders and clinic calls, received positive feedback from staff and patients, and proved simple to use, scalable and more effective than bulletin boards or paper flyers.
