A Visix Case Study
The Milwaukee Art Museum, housed in the architecturally significant Calatrava-designed Quadracci Pavilion, needed a way to deliver timely program and visitor information without detracting from its iconic spaces. With expanded gallery space and high visitor traffic, the museum required compact, elegant digital signage that would complement the building’s design while promoting exhibitions, events and visitor services.
The museum deployed Visix AxisTV software driving two Sharp 27-inch LCDs in the Windhover Reception Hall, using two channel players and a three-frame widescreen layout so marketing, schedules and visitor tips run simultaneously. The web-based system and Visix training made content creation and scheduling easy for staff; since launch the screens have driven awareness and ticket sales (notably for First Friday), increased visitor engagement with staff at the information desk, and enabled plans to add a fullscreen movie of the Brise Soleil movement.
