Coppin State University, an urban residential liberal arts institution in northwest Baltimore, needed a more effective, student-centered way to communicate across campus. With a fragmented digital signage infrastructure and a new Science & Technology Center, the university sought a centrally managed system that could support wayfinding, student-created content and targeted messaging in high-traffic areas.

Coppin deployed Visix’s AxisTV, interactive touchscreens, room signs and a centralized calendaring workflow to deliver playlists, targeted feeds and real-time schedules. The system expanded to 39 displays in 11 buildings plus dozens of room signs, won industry awards, and drove strong engagement—94% of students saw a display, 84% pay attention, 82% find the content informative and over 75% feel more connected. Improved submission workflows boosted content requests to 580, making campus communications more timely, visual and effective.
