A Visix Case Study
Bryant University, a private institution in Smithfield, Rhode Island with about 3,200 undergraduates and 400 graduate students, needed a modern, student-centered way to communicate across its 420‑acre, Wi‑Fi enabled campus. Reliance on overcrowded paper bulletin boards (one of which was even set on fire) created clutter, unauthorized ads and inefficient messaging, so the university moved to ban paper notices and pursue a digital communications solution.
Bryant implemented Visix’s AxisTV digital signage system—servers, players, network infrastructure and dual‑screen displays in high‑traffic areas—with clear submission/approval policies and integration with CollegeNet R25. The result: widespread student-generated content and engagement, near‑real‑time emergency alerts, streaming audio/video capabilities, elimination of physical clutter and unauthorized postings, and a cleaner, more connected campus that other universities now visit as a model.
