A Visix Case Study
BASF Corporation’s Freeport, Texas facility faced a communications gap: about 350 control-room production technicians work 24/7 and rarely sit at computers, so routine emails and admin communications were frequently missed. Systems Analyst Belinda Edge needed a way to deliver safety updates, corporate messages and site news in a format technicians would actually see and use.
BASF implemented a digital signage system (AxisTV channel players with 46" displays) in control rooms, organizing screens into three content blocks for safety, tech-specific updates and mixed site/corporate news. The displays increased visibility and engagement for safety messages, weather and events, improved site-wide communications and drew interest from other groups; BASF is now expanding content to include linked manufacturing dashboards.
