Connect keeps patients in touch with loved ones during Covid-19

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust needed a way to keep patients connected with family and friends when Covid-19 lockdown restrictions stopped hospital visits. To address this challenge, the trust worked with Visionable, using the Visionable:Connect video calling app as part of a tablet-based patient communications package.

Visionable implemented a simple virtual visiting solution that let patients place calls by entering a loved one’s phone number or email address, with no account or download required for the recipient. The trust reported 3,593 virtual visits totaling 602 hours, while the solution also supported bedside-free psychological care and physiotherapy delivery, helping patients and staff stay connected during the pandemic.
