Versiant, a Charlotte-based managed services provider, needed to guarantee continuous access to customers’ systems and data—minimizing downtime and protecting data against disasters, hardware failures, human error and routine maintenance. Periodic snapshot backups and other partial solutions left gaps in recovery point and recovery time objectives, so Versiant required a real-time, full-server protection approach.

Versiant deployed Double-Take Availability to replicate entire servers (data, applications and system state) in real time to standby systems, using byte-level continuous replication and optional compression for remote sites. The solution delivered fast failover and proven DR capability—used to replicate dozens of servers across regions and to migrate 800 GB of SQL data transatlantically with only about one hour of downtime—resulting in minimized downtime, continuous data protection, easy deployment and strong vendor support.
