TMC Marine, a London-based marine consultancy managing about five terabytes of critical documents, images and videos, needed to protect its growing online data from local failures and site-wide disasters. With a limited-bandwidth VPN to its disaster-recovery site and daily physical backups leaving a whole day’s data at risk (and adding IT workload), the company required real-time remote replication that wouldn’t overwhelm its network.

TMC implemented Double-Take Availability, which uses byte-level replication and compression to transmit only changed bytes to the DR site, preserving bandwidth while keeping a continuously up-to-date remote copy; Vision Solutions’ support helped resolve initial installation challenges.
