Sylectus, a web-based trucking software provider serving more than 900 customers and 16,000 trucks, needed reliable high-availability and disaster recovery for its Pervasive databases. Because most DR/HA products don’t support Pervasive and the vendor’s own replication tool caused table locks, performance problems and long initial syncs, Sylectus required an alternative that would protect uptime without impacting production.

They implemented Double-Take Availability to replicate applications, system settings and Pervasive data in real time to an active and a passive site. The solution offloads queries to the active replica, enables failover in under five minutes, uses byte-level replication with compression to minimize bandwidth, and cut initial sync time from 8–24 hours to about 2–3 hours—delivering improved production performance, scalability and a largely maintenance-free protection strategy.
