Syarikat Takaful Malaysia Berhad, a Kuala Lumpur–based Islamic insurer, faced an urgent IT migration: ageing IBM Power5 and AIX systems and DB2 for i databases needed replacement to improve performance, security and reduce maintenance, while meeting a fixed GST compliance deadline. The company also required real-time database replication and strong data integrity to support a new customer and agency portal and to meet strict RTO/RPO objectives for disaster recovery.
Takaful Malaysia standardized on CSC Integral applications running on IBM Power 720 servers and deployed Vision Solutions’ MIMIX Availability plus Double-Take Share and Double-Take Availability to provide hot, cross‑platform replication from DB2 for i to Microsoft SQL Server and real‑time SQL Server high availability. The project improved CPU and application response, strengthened data protection and hardware utilization, enabled seamless DR failovers and real‑time reporting on the DR server, and boosted agent performance and customer satisfaction.
