The Seychelles Civil Aviation Authority (SCAA), which manages air traffic services, search and rescue and airport operations for the Republic of Seychelles, needed to eliminate the risk of IT downtime after a government audit prompted an update to its business continuity and disaster recovery plans. With about 500 staff and an IT infrastructure refresh underway—including virtualization and SANs—SCAA required a reliable replication method to ensure critical systems like Exchange and SQL-based finance applications remained available.

Working with partner Blanche Birger, SCAA implemented Vision Solutions’ Double-Take Availability to provide real-time, byte-level replication between primary and secondary VMware-hosted sites. The solution delivered transparent failover and failback—restoring services in under five minutes—has been tested successfully in live and simulated events, and now ensures continuous operations and rapid recovery with internal teams managing ongoing testing and administration.
